Lorraine Doran, Phrasebook for the Pleiades

Doran’s debut poetry collection won the 2012 Cider Press Book Award and was released in January of 2014 by Cider Press Review. Judge Gray Jacobik calls Doran’s poems “works of strong polyvalence and resonance.”

Jessica Hendry Nelson, If Only You People Could Follow Directions

Nelson’s debut essay collection was selected for the Spring 2014 Indies Introduce New Voices list from the American Booksellers Association. Kirkus called it "an unforgettable debut,” and it’s been recommended by O magazine, Elle magazine, the Boston Globe and others.

Kristen Millares Young, Subduction

City Arts Magazine recently excerpted Young’s debut novel, which is set on the Makah Indian Reservation, in Neah Bay, Wash, and the Stranger called her one of the “fresh new faces in Seattle fiction.”
